Ice climbing course at Rjukan, Norway
Join us on for three days of ice climbing in one of the best ice climbing areas in Europe. Rjukan offers hundreds of routes at all levels of difficulty. The lengths of the routes vary from 10 meters up to over 500 meters.
Program
Departure: Thursday afternoon / evening
Friday: Basic introduction to equipment and safety. Top rope climbing, stand location and rapell anchors.
Saturday: Technique, more top rope climbing, and we begin to practise lead, building belay and rapell anchors.
Sunday: Applied tour 3-4 pitches where we test our new knowledge.
Departure: Sunday p.m. around 15.00 hrs.
We follow the Swedish climbing Federation's recommendations for basic course in ice climbing, and use authorized ice climbing instructors. The price includes rental of shoes, crampons, ice equipment, axes, ice screws, etc and course fees. We suggest that we buy and cook the food together. We recommend shared accommodation in cabins. Transportation to Norway by carpooling in own cars alt. minibus. It is also possible to meet up in Oslo, which has good connections both by train, bus and air.
