Whitewater kayaking courses
Uteguiderna’s whitewater courses are led by an instructor certified by the Swedish Kayak and Canoe Federation. This guarantees the highest safety standards and quality of teaching. All our participants are covered by insurance.
Whitewater kayaking entry level
This course starts from zero, assuming only that you can swim (which you will). You will move swiftly through basic techniques such as wet exit, how to use the paddle for various strokes, moving in and out of eddies, reading the features of the river, etc. The goal is to get you ready to paddle easy whitewater safely on your own.
The course is usually held in Säveån outside Gothenburg, an ideal place for beginners to take their first steps. We sleep in tents during the course, but if you live close by, you might of course go home at night.
Kayaks, wet-suits, life-jackeys and other equipment is provided by Uteguiderna.

Advanced whitewater kayaking
This course assumes that you have taken the entry level course with us or have equivalent qualification. We set the bar higher and let the water level decide where to paddle for two very wet days. We will introduce basic rescue techniques using rescue line and cow tail.
The course can be held at different locations such as Gothenburg, in Dalsland or south-eastern Norway.
Kayaks and equipment is not included but may be rented at Uteguiderna.

Eskimo roll course
Are you tired of swimming every time you capsize? We can help you master the basic Eskimo roll in safe conditions and a good learning environment. The course is suitable both for sea and whitewater paddlers!
Kayaks and necessary equipment is provided by Uteguiderna.

Whitewater instructor examination
When you have come this far in your whitewater kayaking, it is possible to take it a step further and become a Whitewater kayakinstructor. Uteguiderna, in cooperation with the Swedish Kayak and Canoe Federation, will give you this possibility. The examination will take place in Säveån, Gothenburg.

Whitewater adventures
Adventure week in Stryn, Norway
Join this all-inclusive trip with a ticket to the complete adventure! We´ll spend a full week exploring a variety of adventure sports, such as whitewater kayaking, glacier trekking, rock climbing and ice climbing. We will take you to the beautiful mountain landscape of Norway, where snow-capped mountains meet the sky and the glaciers reach all the way to the fjords.
Experience whitewater kayaking
Do you want to get a feel for kayaking whitewater, to see if this is something for you? This is perfect as an introduction to the beginner's course, or a memorable gift to an adventurous person. We are located just outside Uddevalla, the rapids are perfect for discovering the fun of kayaking. If you dare, here is a waterfall to explore, both above and below the surface.
All necessary equipment is supplied by Uteguiderna.

Guided tour
If you already have some whitewater experience, or have participted in any of our courses, we can take you up to Sweden's paddling centre in Dala-Floda or Norway. During a full week we hope to quench our thirst for wild rivers. We choose rapids depending on the experience of the group, and paddle wherever we´ll have the most fun.
Transportation, tents and camping fees are included in the package. Food is not provided, but simple kitchen facilities are available. Bring your own food or buy provisions on location.

Adventure day: rock climbing + whitewater kayaking
We can now offer the complete adventure day, combining climbing and whitewater kayaking. This is for the office team or group of friends who want to experience a day packed with excitement. You decide which activity to start with. For example, whitewater in the morning until the stomach reminds us that we are hungry. After a solid lunch, we continue with rock climbing, top roping and rapelling under safe conditions.
Kayaks, climbing gear and necessary equipment is provided by Uteguiderna.
