Sea kayaking courses
Uteguiderna’s sea kayaking courses are led by experienced and trained instructors. All our participants are insured against accidents.
Sea kayaking entry level
Sitting in a kayak and taking a few strokes is easy. Learning all the subtleties of the game takes a lifetime. This two-day course is aimed at making you a self-sufficient kayaker, capable of planning and bringing about a multi-day trip in a sea kayak.
Planning, stowing your gear efficiently, getting in and out of the kayak, navigating, and basic rescue techniques - these are some of the skills we teach in this two-day course.
The course is also a great way to experience the magical waters and islands of Bohuslän. We start at Gullmarsfjorden and follow Nordströmmarna. We will stop for snacks at beautiful beaches along the way, and we will spend the night camping on an island. An evening swim, a few hours by the fire and a night in a comfortable tent will get us in shape for day 2.
Kayaks and necessary equipment and tents are provided by Uteguiderna.

Eskimo roll course
Are you tired of swimming every time you capsize? We can help you master the basic Eskimo roll in safe conditions and a good learning environment. The course is suitable both for sea and whitewater paddlers!
Kayaks and necessary equipment is provided by Uteguiderna.

Sea kayak adventures
Guided trip at Nordströmmarna and Bassholmen
This full day starts and ends in Sweden's only true fjord - the deep and scenic Gullmarsfjorden. We continue through Nordströmmarna and around Bassholmen. Here we enjoy the archipelago at its best. Dramatic cliffs and gentle sweeps of granite characterize this area, which is also lined by a variety of historic sites.
Before we put the kayaks in the water, we give a short safety and paddling briefing, ensuring a safe trip. Paddling is good for the appetite, so don’t forget to bring your own lunch or snacks.
The price for a kayak tour includes all the necessary equipment (kayak, paddle, spray skirt and life jacket), the transport of all equipment, instruction and guiding.
The participants should bring the following:
- Transportation: Getting to Skår in Bokenäs. Bus connections are very good from Uddevalla and Gothenburg.
- Food: Snack, lunch
- Equipment: clothes for paddling

Guided tour at Fjällbacka
This is the perfect beginner´s trip, but will also appeal to the experienced kayaker wanting to see some of Sweden´s nicest spots. Our knowledgable guides will show you the famous archipelago and guide you through the history of Fjällbacka.
We sleep in tents wherever we choose, and wake up to the sound of the sea. If the weather permits, we visit Väderöarna, a barren group of islands situated in the crystal clear waters west of Fjällbacka. The trip takes three days.
Kayaks, tents and the necessary equipment is provided by Uteguiderna. Other equipment can be rented from us.

Gourmet kayaking
A kayaking weekend in Bohuslän where we focus on food! The advantage of paddling a kayak is that there is plenty of room in the kayak and you can easily stow a few extra goodies. And nothing gets your appetite going like a day on the water.
Once you arrive at the evening´s camp site, we will start preparing the meal together. The weekend is meant to inspire us to cook more luxurious and better food in the outdoors, moving beyond the freeze-dried prefabricates. All participants will get a shopping list some days before the tour.
The trip starts at Gullmarsfjorden and is southbound towards Bassholmen and the eddies of Malö, either offshore or in the safety of inland passages, depending on the participant's skills and weather conditions.
