Rock climbing entry level
It doesn't matter whether your goal is to climb rock or ice, or even head off towards the very big mountains. It always starts with the basics, which is the same for all climbing.
The course is held during two full days in Bohuslän, and is oriented towards hands-on practise. We will teach you about knots, climbing equipment, belaying, top-rope anchors, abseiling, access issues and a lot more. After this course, you will be capable of climbing top-rope independently, or second a more experienced partner who leads.
We live in tents during the course, but if you live close by, you can of course go home at night. All necessary equipment is provided by Uteguiderna.

Rock climbing advanced course
The natural continuation for those who want to go from top-rope climbing and experience the freedom of climbing in traditional style on your own protection.
We focus mainly on the art of placing safe gear on lead, using nuts, cams and hexes. We teach you effective solutions for building stands in different situations. We look at different techniques to save power while climbing. We also go through different kinds of improvised equipment, and may practice rope climbing and other methods to solve problems during the climbing. Everything is done during safe conditions, and the content of the course can be customized to your needs and previous experience.
At this level we assume you have own equipment, but the course fee includes the loan of additional equipment if necessary.

Adventure day: rock climbing + whitewater kayaking
We can now offer the complete adventure day, combining climbing and whitewater kayaking. This is for the office team or group of friends who want to experience a day packed with excitement. You decide which activity to start with. For example, whitewater in the morning until the stomach reminds us that we are hungry. After a solid lunch, we continue with rock climbing, top roping and rapelling under safe conditions.
Kayaks, climbing gear and necessary equipment is provided by Uteguiderna.

In-door climbing course
The course covers equipment, top-roping, belaying, climbing technique and safety issues during indoor climbing. The price includes all the necessary equipment such as harness, shoes, chalk, etc.

Uteguidernas climbing coursers are led by an instructor certified by the Swedish climbing Federation. This guarantees that your instructor has a high level of competence, and that the course has the proper content. All our participants arte covered by accident incurance.
Adventure week in Stryn, Norway
Join this all-inclusive trip with a ticket to the complete adventure! We´ll spend a full week exploring a variety of adventure sports, such as whitewater kayaking, glacier trekking, rock climbing and ice climbing. We will take you to the beautiful mountain landscape of Norway, where snow-capped mountains meet the sky and the glaciers reach all the way to the fjords.
Multi-pitch climbing
Multi-pitch is about getting up cliffs or mountains that are taller than the lenth of your rope. Large walls pose greater demands on routine, speed, cooperation and judgement. But with the proper training exciting opportunities open up in Norway, the Alps, and farther away.
The multi Pitch course includes the Swedish Federation's course in advance climbing , but goes one step further. Here you will learn a set of techniques that will help you enjoy the fantastic experience of climbing long routes. You will learn, among other things:
- Fast, efficient anchors
- Long abseils
- Double rope technique
- Protecting a traverse
- Route-finding
- Moving together
- Alpine belay techniques
- Risk evaluation on larger rocks (weather, rock types, etc)
- Improvised equipment and problem solving

Rock climbing self-rescue
Have you decided to go for climbing? Maybe you have a few years' experience and have become eager to develop your skills? Unfortunately, it is not unlikely that you will at some point end up in a situation where you, your climbing partner or someone else at the crag encounters problems. If you are lucky, you are where help is available. More likely you are alone in the rugged terrain and must solve the problems on your own.
Our intensive course in rescue combines Swedish climbing Federation's Rescue Course Part 1 and Part 2 for an intensive weekend with practical exercises. We focus on building a toolbox of skills in rescue work, which you can use to solve a lot of tricky situations.
The course covers:
- Escaping the system
- Rapelling with injured person
- Assisting the second through the difficulties
- Rescuing the second
- Rescuing the leader
- Improvised equipment (harness, brake, etc.)
The course is an excellent opportunity for you and your climbing partner to cooperate in these operations, and thereby a great way to prepare for a big objective. You will also shape your skills in general rope handling, knots, stand construction, rope climbing and other skills that will be useful in your climbing. Exercises are exciting and fun, and always done using additional backup for maximum security. The course also includes evening activities with repetition, discussions and question time.
You should have skills equivalent to at least beginner´s course, plus at least one season of outdoor climbing. You do not need to climb to a certain degree, but should be able to place trad gear.
Equipment: Exercise scenarios are set up so that they can be performed with your normal equipment, possibly with some extra ropes and screw-gates. You may borrow extra equipment for the course from Uteguiderna.
